Dear Professor, I Am Still in School Growing up, I always had a body that was more developed than most girls my age. I got my first period when I was 9 years old, and instead of learning that it was something normal, I was bullied by my male classmates. My teacher saw it happen many times but never said a word. I remember feeling ashamed every time I got my period, as if I had done something wrong. The worst part came in high school. As my body changes during puberty became more noticeable, some of my teachers started making comments about it. One day, my math teacher looked at me in front of the whole class and said that my boobs and behind were too big for someone my age, and that if school didn't work out, I should just get married. I just stood there, embarrassed, wishing everyone would stop looking at me. Dear professor, if you ever read this, I hope you recognize yourself. I am now in my second year of university.
